Unknown Fw58 variant (eBay)
At eBay here is a Focke Wulf Fw58 coded D-OIAK. It has rear-cockpit open gun position usually seen in Fw58B-2 models, but has a non-glazed nose, which suggests that it is not a Fw58B-2. I have never seen this before. Can anyone tell me what variant this might be?

Re: Unknown Fw58 variant (eBay)
Hi, Ian...
Having looked at the aircraft, I'd say it's an Fw58C, with the gun position retained. It seems to be a Sanitätsflugzeug. The LEMB Stammkennzeichen database notes a machine with this coding assigned to I./JG26, which may explain the retention of a gun position if it was used up at the front line. Regards, Paul |
