You're welcome, Marc. I wish I could have posted more but more of my time is being demanded elsewhere.

Re: Photos 8-14

Hello Ed and marc,

Regarding Post#1 and #2, after carefully comparing equipment, markings and distinctive characteristics, I believe that the Fw190 in question was photographed at Straubing and not Neubiberg. Several facts support my thesis: All of the Fw190F-8s at Neubiberg carried II.Gruppe bars not III.Gruppe bars (except for a few brand new unmarked Fw190F-9s). Also, note the looming P-47 prop in the foreground; Neubiberg was occupied by the 357th FG with P-51 Mustangs not Thunderbolts.

Instead, I suggest that this aircraft is: Fw190F-8, WNr. 580351, 5+ I black, surrendered at Straubing, Germany.

Thank you again both for your hard work.

Steve Sheflin

Re: Photos 8-14

The photo identified in post #6 might possibly be a Bf 110, coded M8+Bx. If that were correct, then the Gruppe could be II./KG 76. The date on the back of the photo was 9 September 1940. Reviewing the sources I have for the losses prior to that date, M8+BM (W.Nr.3257) was shot down near Dover on 30 August 1940. That is quite a distance from London, but perhaps someone has better information on either that loss or perhaps yet another loss which better would fit the situation. I could be wrong on all counts, but details of the wreckage do suggest a Bf 110 and the "M" and "B" are quite clear on the image.

Best regards,

Artie Bob
