Thank you for the detailed reply Gabor. I accept that the records you check are generally verified by details from research. And I accept that the process is very time consuming and tedious.
I was actually thinking on a more global scale. More what the records possibly DON'T say rather than what they do.
I go back to my comment about reconciling losses. Has anyone tried to calculate total losses for the conflict and then check that all the available loss records add up to that same number? Again, I say if they don't add up, then there is a problem.
