Lt Col. Mark J. Gilles, 8th AF, 95th BG, 412th BS, B-17 pilot

piloted B-17s on bombing missions over Europe. He served in the 8th Air Force, 95th BG, 412th BS, flying 32 combat missions. He flew two tactical missions on D-Day. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. 8th AFHS
