I believe you will find detailed 87/100 Octane performances comparisons in the reports that must have been filed before the conversion done by the RAF. Concerning the technological advantage, I would say there was none and even Soviet fighers were a step backwards due to their heavy wooden construction. On the other hand, Hurricane aerodynamics was far from perfect, and I am surprised it was never improved. It must be not forgotten that several critical comments about Western aircraft were of pure Soviet propaganda nature. |
