Hi,
"Hell Hawks!" by Robert F Dorr & Thomas D Jones gives a vivid description of this action on pp31-33 describing the mission as an armed recce between Chartes and Dreux 09.00 hrs with 16 P.4's at 11,000 ft bouncing a similar number of 109's at 8,000 ft claming 8 but losing 1 pilot. Frank Olynyk in his excellent ETO claims opus times the combat at 11.00 hrs and in the vicinity of Evreaux Cheers Bruce Lander
