4 september 1944 Ammo Train destroyed by sraffing in Burgundy
Am 4 september 1944,one big train of ammos ( Lw bombs, schells, V1 parts, torps ...)was destroyed By Allieds fighters bombers In the sector of the French village Beire le Fort near Genlis Town, between Dijon Burgundy and Dole (Jura) .
( its not the train destroyed in Perreuil Sâone Loire the same day ) We never know who destroyed this train. Diverses possibillity : Spitfires, P-38 or Thunderbolts, Américans or Frenchs ... Yesterday, we found bullets cal 50, so it's certainly one attack by P-47 thunderbolt . French's thunderbolt coming from Rhône walley or US P- 47 ? I try to list Us Unit who is near the country during this period ... 27 FG 523 FS 36 FG 23 FS 79 FG 86 FS 324 FG 315 & 316 FS 371 FG 405 FS List certainly no complet ... I have not historic datas, books for all theses units . So who can help .... Thanks by advance
