Just putting things right, Chris, my remark on Bundesarchiv photos was not referring to Schnellmeyer's acquisitions but to images shown as photos 1 and 2 on the website mentioned earlier by Revi16 and giving the misleading information with regard to Hptm. Daser's involvement with F8+BW.
The photo, with its training crew standing in front of F8+BW, is shown on that website as photo 3, only confirming that prints of it were more widely distributed than just to Otto Kipp, but also to several others. Its caption on the website is reading rather correctly: "Like most Luftwaffe units KG 40 had its own separate Gruppe dedicated to the training and conversion of crews, IV (Erg)/KG 40. The crew in front of this Fw 200 Condor, coded F8+BW, are in the process of converting from the He-111." |
