Alex,

Highly unlikely that 66615 Walter William WICKENS RAAF was our man. Wickens' service number indicates a ground trade in the RAAF. His unit at discharge (28 Dec 1945), was No.4 RAAF Postal Unit (also known as No.2 RAAF BPO), which was based in Sydney, NSW. l doubt Wickens ever left Australia's shores.
