I don't know if you are aware of this site, but you can get a lot of information for a particular mission using it.
http://www.8thafhs.com/ Starting on the 4th circle (missions by date) by entering 20 December 1943 you are taken to a series of links. Some of the BG reports are very complete, including maps, etc. Some of the MACRs are shown completely, others are summarized. Many of your questions may be answered by digging through all the information that is available on the various links given for that date.
