Questions abou "Blitz"

I am not quite sure on how this twin or four engined jet Arado
was operated .

The pilot seems to be strapped on a rather interesting type
of back style type parachute with black metalic of some sort
of a black pad between the chute and pilot's back,a stick
that could have been stowed to the right and a detachable
landing gear along with a brake chute .

Questions : how was the pilot suposed to bail out given
this was a jet bomber, was there an escape hatch
underneath ? after detaching the gear and drag chute
on landings how was this bomber comming to a rest ? It
was not equipped with slides depicted on attachment.

Also which sqd was operating the 234's and were there
any brought down by Soviet and American fighters ?

Again I am no expert on this .
