Fw 190 A-4 W.Nr. 140586?
Hello,
There is currently a control stick for sale at eBay that bears the aircraft's serial number. It came from a Fw 190 (indicated by the electrical wiring diagram code 'V60') and the W.Nr. is given as 0586. It can only have been Fw 190 A-4, W.Nr. 140586: http://www.ebay.com/itm/311640545068 However, this aircraft crashed with 80% damage on 26 February 1943 while with JG 1. See this old TOCH thread for more information: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=35218 If it indeed crashed 80%, I wouldn't expect that two years later a GI found the aircraft's control stick. Could it be a different W.Nr. or was 140586 rebuilt (very unlikely with 80% damage). Roger |
