Jochen Prien is on a distinguished road
Fw./Lt. Günther Jahn, JG 2

Gentlemen,

Fw. Günther Jahn belonged to the Stabsschwarm of II./JG2, flying temporarily as wingman of Maj. Kurt Bühligen. When the latter took over JG 2 in May 1944, Günther Jahn was posted to Stab/JG 2 and was apparently commissioned as Leutnant. He filed his third claim on 5 July 1944.

According to unconfirmed information he was killed while flying low level attacks on allied tanks in the Caen area in the summer of 1944. Has anybody got information / documetns to substantiate this ?

KR
