Otto Kittel,16/02/1945:new information?
Hello all
Attached this discovery. 12h06 A "schwarm" (Otto Kittel,Lt Karl Bytomski,Ofhr Oscar Renner,Uffz Gerhard Kreibich) takes off from Zabeln to conduct a free hunt,sector of Tukums. Testimony of Lt Karl Bytomski: "In bad weather,we started a fight at low altitude with 23 Il-2 having a escort. My 'rottenführer' was Oblt Kittel.May before the fight (1),the plane of Kittel left suddenly at an angle of 30°-35°,then hit the ground;he must have been fatally struck by the Flak. (1) BEFORE THE FIGHT:words are important;Kittel was shot down before the fight. The version of Bytomski (witness)contradicts that issued as what Kittel would have claimed its 267° Abchusse that day before being shot down:Il-2 12h15 witness Georg Zeider....?? the Georg Zeidler? KIA on 18/09/44 NO Jelgava (Mittau)!! Interesting to discuss. Michel
