Junkers 88 A4 Identity
Hi everyone,
I have a con plate from a JU88 and wondered if I could enlist some help on how to obtain an ID for it. Apart from asking the vast body of intelligence here, does anyone know of any publications that could assist a novice like me? The details on the plate are : Beuart hgg ------------ Gerat-Nr 9-6101.40 Werk-Nr 3909 Hersteller aus ------------ fur motor Jumo 211 (F-possible, not sure) ln Ju88 A4 Kuhlstoff Wasser Nachprufdr 2.5 atu Ventileinst (blank) Abnahme stamped BA2240 and OK As my knowledge of German is non existent, can anyone help me with the meaning of each section as well as any assistance with the ID of the aircraft. Having established it's ID, where would I go to find some history on it. I believe, although not confirmed, that it may have been lost in the Murmansk area. Thanks - as always - for your help. Rgds Graham |
