Ar 196 of JG 102 shot down on 14 Jan. 45

Sorry, it's not an Ar 196 floatplane but an Ar 96 trainer.

In "Start im Morgengrauen", Werner Girbig relates the tragic end of an Ar 96 of JG 102, shot down by "Mustangs" near Eggebek on the 14 January 1945 around 1045 (German time), prelude to another "Black Sunday".

I have been trying for some time to find out which Allied unit to credit. In fact, no German aircraft was claimed by USAAF or 2nd TAF fighters that far North (Eggebek is about 50 km South of Flensburg) on this very day.

Any clue anyone?

Thanks.

Chris
