Re: Informations about Major Alfred Lindenberger
Here's a little known fact about Alfred Lindenberger. Not only was he a WWI ace and Sturmgruppe (Assault Group) commander in World War II, he was a member of Galland's Jagdverband 44, which operated Me 262s. At the end of the war, Lindenberger was brought to the United Sates to show Americans how to fly the Me 262.

Re: Informations about Major Alfred Lindenberger
Hi Barry,
interesting. Maybe that Lindenberger was member of the JV44. But not in the role as a pilot. At least in the well known Gutowski-paper of 27 04.45 he is not identified as one of its pilots. Karl |

Re: Informations about Major Alfred Lindenberger
Karl,
Lindenberger is one of the "unknown" pilots of Jagdverband 44. In his own writing from 1945, he identifies himself as a pilot of Jagdverband 44 and states that he trained American pilots to fly the Me 262 in the US. In order to be training pilots in the US, he had to have flown the 262 beforehand. I plan to write a small book about Lindenberger in the future. Barry |
