Oberfeldwebel Eberhard Rose
Hello Fred
I looked at the loss list included in the Anders and Held book on JG 51 and an Oberfeldwebel Eberhard Rose is mentioned as having been killed on 31 May 1943 due to Überschlag bei Landung. Could this be the same fellow as Oberfeldwebel Kurt Rose and the date of 21 May 1943 is a typographical error? Perhaps Matti Salonen or Jim Perry could help out here? I also noticed that an Oberfeldwebel Eberhard Rose of 7./JG 52 is credited with a victory on 22 February 1943 as per Wood so perhaps he may have actually claimed two victories and not zero as per the Anders and Held book. Another detail included in this source is that he was born in 1914. Horrido! Leo
