Re: looking for GQM1107
Hello Gilles,
from NVM: Uffz August Malles, Jagdschüler, D 520, WNr. 505, lost orientation in fog and hit hill. Uffz Rudolf Tomasch, Hilfsjagdlehrer, D 520, WNr. 693, lost orientation in fog and hit hill. The reported next relative was his mother Maria Tomasch, so "Tomasch" without "Th" seems to be okay. HTH Carl

Re: looking for GQM1107
Thanks Carl,
is there on the NVM any information about Tomasch's mother's city or village that could help me trace the family ? Thanks Gilles |

Re: looking for GQM1107
Malle (not Malles) was born Feldkirchen 28 Nov 22 and was killed at Ste Arromand (?)
Tomasch (not Thomasch) was born 2 Sep 20 at Oberlangenau and was killed at Lannemezan |

Re: looking for GQM1107
Hi, all
Spelling of names more likely to be correct in NVM. I was just referring the content of the GenQu report. With regards to aircraft WNr etc we have seen errors going 'both' ways - NVM erronous, GenQu correct and vice versa as verified by allied wreck investigation reports and also contemporary German photographs. I will update my database with info from the NVM. Regards, Andreas
