Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Hello Tom,

Here you go:

Arado D-1's
WNr.2066 - 2080
WNr.2201 - 2325

Arado E-1's
WNr.3380 - 3664
WNr.3854 - 3919 (although I have also a few WNrs that are lower then 3854, so possible start of the block is 3845!?)
WNr.4801 - 4975 (mixed block of 49 E-1/B, 18 E-6/N, 46 E-7 and 38 E-8 )
Also this block could be longer, as I have the last reported WNr.4987. Ofcourse the WNrs reported out of the block range could be typing errors and misprints.

Arado E-7's
There is no pure E-7 block produced at Arado. Look the above last E-1 block.

best regards,
Tomislav

Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Hi Tomislav

Thanks for the info.

Are you certain of the early D-1 block 2066 to 2080.

Is it possible that the block ended with 2076

I only say this because I have the 2077 at Arado starting with something else.

What source is the info for the block 2066 to 2080?

I have not seen any W/Nrs of D-1s in between this block

Are there any?

Again thanks for info.

Regards

Tom Willis

Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Hello!

For what it is worth see the attached document. It is one page of "Übersichtsliste der Änderungsanweisungen BF 109" dated 1.7.43 (July -43).

Exactly same Arado-built Bf 109 E-1 Werke Nummer blocks can be found on Blatt 65 (modificaton nr 277 "Ölkühlerabdeckung") and Blatt 67 (modification nr 282 "Austausch des Winkelstückes für Fahrwerk- und Motorabstützung").

Note also the styles of WNr: "W 2655-2666" and 109.xxxx.

I checked before posting and the digiversion of "Blatt 63" is difficult to read. The blocks are shown as:

" E-1 Arado: W 2655 - W 2666 /
109.2667 - 109.2696 /
109.3333 - 109.3664 /
109.3854 - 109.3919 /
109.4804 - 109.4975 / "

Hope this helps some,

Kari

PS I cannot guarantee that the file will stay online for many months. Will remove it if I will need room for other attachments.

PPS It looks like the attacment is unreadable at the size the Forum engine dictates (195 kb).

Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Hello again,

@Tom - the source for the early D-1 (WNr.2066-2080) is the first volume of the excellent Prien saga "Die Jagdfliegerverbände der deutchen Luftwaffe 1934-1945".

@Kari - this list that you posted in the attachment is highly interesting. Is there any more such documents, and where can they be obtained/ordered?
A small tip - try to convert the original file into .jpeg format, it uses much less space and the the resolution will be better.

all the best,
Tomislav

Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Of the attachment format. The version of Photoshop I have (CS2 ) does not have jpeg as option under "save as". Couldn't believe it at first. Gif was only the second choice.

Of the availability. I have received these as a paper photocopies from a colleague, originals are at Sota-arkisto archive. I think this is the only document of this kind here. I have the document in tiff-format (11 files/pages 11,4 MB total).

Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Kari, in CS2 you can use the 'Save for web' - and there on the right hand side you will find the option 'jpeg'. Hope that would make the interesting scan more readable.

Re: Arado Werke Numbers

Hello!

Blatt 63 is now attached as jpeg. Should be readable. Thanks for the tip Anders!
