I have found it difficult to pin down much as to Nagel's exact role at Flettner owing to the paucity of surviving documentation. There is an American post-war report which describes him as Flettner's Chief Draftsman (American English) but there's really little other trace of him other than his involvement in the Goettingen Monograph.

I was able to find his son but it has been a very slow process in terms of anything surfacing, however, the soon has recently advised me that he has found a Lebenslauf for his father so fingers crossed.
