Are you sure, Seaplanes ?

In my list the WNr. is only given as "0581" !
Another loss is the Fw 190 A-8 / 680581 with 10% damage from 20.06.44, also from FlÜG 1. Can it be the same plane ?

best wishes
JoMe

Re: Fw 190 0581 crash at Venlo, 8 January 1944

Hello all,

The Fw190 flown by Lt. Wierz was an Fw190 A-4, this is known from a monthly strength report. The Fw190 was part of the Tagesschwarm of the Luftbeobachter-Staffel, shadowing USAAF forces by daylight.
The Luftbeobachter had no bombers but Ju88 R-2's.

Best wishes, Marcel

Fw 190 0581 crash at Venlo, 8 January 1944

Hi guys

If indeed this was Fw 190 A-4 (W.Nr. 0140 581) then it was interestingly quite a well-known aircraft that previously served with the Gruppenstab of I./JG 1 and was flown by Leutnant Eberhard Burath.

Horrido!

Leo
