Re: place of the Stromberg carburator on a P-51D Merlin engine

The P-51A had an Allison Engine had a Stromberg down-draft carburetor with the carburetor intake scoop above at the front of the cowling.

The P-51B-K used the Merlin had the Stromberg up-draft carburetor with the carburetor scoop just below the prop spinner.
