Re: Where is Friedrich Rupp buried?

He died on 15 May, 1943; his remains were miraculously recovered a month later from the sea; was buried 16 September, 1943.

Nothing about this fact-pattern suggests a simple explanation or burial location.

He was a good-looking kid. A lot of them were.

Re: Where is Friedrich Rupp buried?

Dear Broncazonk,
Thank you for your answer, but these are things I have known for quite a long time.
Yes, he was very good-looking... the most handsome pilot of the Luftwaffe, in my opinion.
I hope I will find and visit his grave one day...

hi

VDK:
Friedrich Albert Ragnar Rupp could not be recovered.
According to the information available to us, he remained at sea

Re: Where is Friedrich Rupp buried?

Dear Lilsis,
Thank you very much for your answer. Does the abbreviation VDK stand for Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge?

It's such a great pity that poor Friedrich's body hasn't been recovered... I've even seen photos from his funeral (I'm attaching one to this post), but was it just a symbolic memorial service? Maybe there is a symbolic empty grave too...?
