I agree with John's assessment that 'much of the work' was done by Jan Hey. Paul's remark that 'all the work' has been done by Jan is absolutely unfair to Father Thuring.
To be more precise: they are working together. While Jan Hey goes through all MACR's and other (incident) reports, it is Father Thuring who painstakingly traces all (original) burial locations in field graves and the original burial locations in military cemeteries after the war. Through their mutual effort a lot of information has come to light and they are a true treasure trove for (mainly) USAAF researchers. Best wishes, Ivo de Jong |
