Flying Nightingales
Hi guys
In the news today are the long-forgotten 'Flying Nightingales' - the WAAF nurses who flew aboard Dakotas after D-Day to care for wounded soldiers during evacuation flights back to England - whose bravery is at last to be recognised. Do we know if any of these nurses were lost to enemy action or flying accidents? Cheers Brian |

Re: Flying Nightingales
Hello Brian,
The Daily Mail online site of today (24 Oct 2008) also carries the story and it says that two nurses "died on active duty". It offers no further details. Regards, Leendert |
