Many thanks for all of the help.

If this is a 1940 period photo, would it be possible to narrow a date down further?
Do operational records books survive for the Luftwaffe in the same way as they do for the RAF. If so would it be possible to look at all of the aircraft with the code and see how they crashed to perhaps narrow the options down.
