Re: He 111 lost 17.12.39 II/KG26

hi,

back to 17.12.39: is it possible, that these two losses are the same? i have hüsgen with 2./kg26 - or was this a mistake, correct II./26?

all the best

Jim,

Yes, almost certainly a duplication involved with a II./KG26 loss being wrongly recorded as 2./KG26 at some stage. Hüsgen was 6 Staffel as were all others in the crew.

Re: He 111 lost 17.12.39 II/KG26

One Web source (www.rafandluftwaffe.info) gives two losses this day (probable confusion between 2./KG 26 and II./KG 26) and indicates that the second was due to 46 Sqn Hurricanes.

Post above list the loss cause as engine failure or unknown. Does anyone know if 46 Sqn attacked a German bomber this day ?
