Mystery 109 E1 relic

Hello all

i recently aquired this BoB relic from a fellow enthusiast. I have been collecting for few years now, but this particular object has me baffled. Its off a BF109E-1, but which part and what was its function????

if any one could help shed light on this i would be most grateful...

many thanks

Looks like one of the tie downs for the wing root cover...

Re: Mystery 109 E1 relic

Hi Johnny's

No JohnnyB, it's written 7./JG 51 which is exactly the unit Wilhelm, not Eduard was flying with when shot down 25/10/40.

Franck.

Pilot is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Mystery 109 E1 relic

Strange part, look more like part of the ground anchoring equipment, Bf109 have anchor points at the wing bottom. Never seen anything like that, maybe any Bf109 owner could bring more light.
