ID needed for WW2 plane hatch
Hello all, a friend of mine bought the hatch from a peasant who lives near a former B-24 crash site in Romania and claimed it was belonging to that aircraft, we are not able though to positively match it to a B-24 one, so maybe it is of german / soviet origin, any ideas ?

Re: ID needed for WW2 plane hatch
Dependent on size, it may be one of the life raft hatches on the top of the aircraft.
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...ch&FORM=HDRSC2 There is also in inward opening hatch just forward of the upper turret. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Untit...6c3a7ccf8e8ca3 http://www.airliners.net/photo/Conso...8422d43c46c3a7 http://www.airliners.net/photo/Conso...8422d43c46c3a7 Last edited by Revi16; 9th December 2014 at 21:05. |
