German Naval Aircraft, Vol. 2
In French. And I must say the color scheme for the floats of the plane on the cover is new to me. Scheduled for March.

Re: German Naval Aircraft, Vol. 2
Well ed, I guess at almost 60 Euros, not including postage and packing, they can paint the floats any colour they like, as at that price they can keep it.
I dread to think what an English version would cost. Chris |

Re: German Naval Aircraft, Vol. 2
Thanks Chris... the authors and myself worked very hard on this book !...
actually quite a bit of it is in English. My contribution amounted to 600+ photo captions (in English) augmented from the text plus a number of personal accounts also in English for the edification & entertainment of English-speaking readers.. ! I doubt the publishers are responsible for the price quoted on the Schmidt web site, in fact the pre-publication offer from the Lela Presse web site was 48 Euros with free postage worldwide. yes I guess that's still pricey ..but then it's not Osprey is it ? along with volume 1, these are easily the most comprehensive sources available in any language on Luftwaffe seaplane operations and aircraft (even if I do say so myself..) |

Re: German Naval Aircraft, Vol. 2
Not just adding my comments here because of Neil, his association with the LEMB and his work with this volume, but if this second volume is anywhere as good as the first, then stand by for another superb work. I pre-ordered mine for just over £42 with free shipping and this offer is still available up until the 20th March. We've been discussing it over on the LEMB here since September 2009, or you can find out more details direct from the publishers here.. so grab it while you can!

Re: German Naval Aircraft, Vol. 2
Bulging wallet? Bulging wallet! I have four, yes four daughters ....... two entering the dreaded teenage grunt stage..."new dress, money, now"
I have to confess I've just ordered the book ........ well I couldn't resist seeing what it's got on the He 115. Know any good French courses anyone? Still as we say in Scotland: Vers le haut de votre kilt Chris P.S. Told you I couldn't speak french. |
