Question for Peter Spoden
Herr Spoden,
After reading your biography in David Williams' Night Fighters and your own interesting autobiography Ich war Nachtjäger in Görings Luftwaffe I am struck by the lack of information, photographic and otherwise, concerning the specific aircraft you flew on your combat missions, i.e. code letters, Werke Nummer, etc. The only three I have noted concern the Bf 110 you used to make your first three Abschüße and the two Ju 88s you were flying when shot down, namely: Bf 110 C9 + KP on 18.08. and 24.08.43 Ju 88 2Z + FP on 27.12.44 Ju 88 2Z + DP on 7.03.45 Do you have any further information that you can share with us? mit bestem Gruß, Tom Semenza Last edited by Tom Semenza; 18th April 2010 at 02:49. |

Re: Question for Peter Spoden
Rod,
Many thanks for that bit of information. As for "Vtwinvince's" post, thanks for the good wishes. Peter Spoden has posted on this forum as recently as 11 April, so I know he's out there. Tom |

Re: Question for Peter Spoden
Hello Tom,
Here I am. Sorry, I did not answer all mails right away. But Rolfeb is right, I had an bicycle accident and was in hospital for several weeks, feeling not so good since then. In the war we did not make many pictures, Lichtenstein and radar were top secret, my logbook was taken away when POW. Rod from New Zealand and Theo Boiten know much more about Nachtjagd than me. Read their book. If you have any spec.question, go ahead in this forum- best regrds Peter www.nachtjaegerspoden.de |

Re: Question for Peter Spoden
Sorry to hear of your accident, Herr Spoden. I wish you a quick recovery as well.
I suspected that there was no more information to be had concerning the aircraft you flew in combat. Thank you for confirming that. Best regards, Tom Semenza Last edited by Tom Semenza; 20th April 2010 at 19:55. Reason: spelling correction |
