Laurent has already quoted what Balss says, so it is your choice to see if you can make any sense out of it, relating claims areas with losses. However I still believe that WNr 160138 was not part of the Intruders victories that night and looking in Boiten/MacKenzie's Vol 2 they tend to agree with this. The crew had a complete homing equipment failure and while landing Oblt Kurt Matzak collided with another Bf 110. The two Ju 88 lost at/near Gütersloh are listed as claimed by No 85 Sq. I have no claims available from Bomber Command that night, so cannot say if any of those listed were the victims of one or more defending gunner(s). Best Regards Stig
