Air War Pacific Chronology, by Eric Hammel

About two years ago, I planned to buy this book and searched one on the Net... The prices I found were between 2000 and 5000 dollars depending of the site... So I forgot the idea.

Doing a search on Amazon today, by sheer curiosity, I just checked the price of this book today. It was available for only 12,64 dollars!!! By clicking to know more, I found it was available in electronic format, more precisely at the Kindle format.

I have not a Kindle, but will check how much expensive is one. In the meantime, I think other people will be interested to know about this offer.

And maybe other rare and expensive books can be found at the same price and format ?

Best regards

Laurent

Usual disclaimer - not linked to Amazon, Kindle, or Mr Hammel on any way...

OK, a Kindle is about 259 $ when new, but I found something possibly more interesting for those not having one yet.

Pacifica is saling eBooks on his website (http://www.pacificamilitary.com/ebooks.html) and Hammel's Pacific Air War Chronology is available for 12,99 $, but the price includes the book (in a protected Acrobat format) AND the program needed to read it, so for 13 $ you can have the book on your computer and read it if I understand correctly.

By the way, Hammel's Europe Air War Chronology (including MTO) is also available in the same electronic format, but the real book could also be found on the Net at the price of 5 $.

Salut Laurent,

Are Pacifica and Hammel linked together as he is the only author of this publisher?

I have no idea and did not know it was their only author as I was only searching the Pacific Chronology book, but it is well possible.

Bonne soirée

Pacifica Press used to be Eric Hammel's own publishing company.

AFAIK Eric is the only writer.

Ok, what's so very special about this book that makes it so expensive today?

Just curious, no criticism intended.

Low production run?

I obtained Kindle from Amazon.com for my PC for free. So you might avoid the the cost for the hand held that way.
