Stuka pilot interview: Attack on Malta Convoy

Here another interview video that I did with Heinz Migeod 2 weeks ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcD51ribM5Y

I made some copies of his war photographs; here some of them, will submit more soon:
(I obtained permission from Dr Migeod to publish them on the net but please respect the copyright of these pictures)

Thanks Peter and it is my pleasure: I again invite any member to ask any Stuka or theatre related question then I can ask him to see if he can provide answers. He also remembers comrades and commanders very well that was with him in his unit. I have about 3 hours of footage and will release them with the specific short stories of approx 5min duration.

He still has his flight book and all his decorations with certificates...I will in time present that here as well.

At this stage Dr. Migeod is in hospital but hopefully he will recover soon.

regards

Tinus le Roux

Wow!!
Those are really great.
I would be interested in his career in 1940.
Did you get any footage of him regarding that period?
Thanks once again for your willingness to share such precious information.
Gerry

Thanks for that, I look forward to seeing it.
I know that 1 St. G 76 were involved in a training incident on 15 august 39 at Neuhammer where almost the entire staffel crashed into the ground due to fog.
They were being led by Hauptmann Sigel and were demonstrating dive bombing tactics to some senior Luftwaffe officers.
Was Heinz involved that day?
Gerry

I will ask him about it but it will only be next week. Heinz talked a lot about Walter Sigel and it was his commander as well. He has a deep respect for Walter.

Re: Stuka pilot interview: Attack on Malta Convoy

Thanks for all these precious infos and photos Tinus,

Can you ask Mr. Migeod about names of other pilots of I./St.G. 3 during his time in Greece? Who was his BF?
When did they leave Crete exactly?

cheers

Byron
