19/20 August 1940: 9./KG27 Heinkel He111P-2. Ditched in the Bay of Biscay 300 km north of St Sebastian due to petrol failure following night sortie to Liverpool. BS Gefr Karl Höß killed, FF Oberlt [ ] Siegel and rest of crew rescued unhurt. Aircraft 100% write-off.
