I've been following this thread for a short while, and had no previous knowledge of this controversy (a real can of worms as they say in the UK). So, can I just ask a simple question, without any preconceived judgements about who wrote what, and with no agenda of my own:
How is it possible for the French fighter pilots to mistake a Fairey Battle for a Henschel HS.126? One is a low-winged, inline-engined aircraft with a long glazed canopy and retractable undercarriage, and the other is a parasol-winged, radial engined aircraft with fixed undercarriage. I can understand something like a Blenheim being mistaken for a Ju-88, which happened on occasion, but to mistake a Battle for an HS-126...??? ![]() Best regards Simon Last edited by wwrsimon; 12th September 2010 at 12:24.
