Re: New book 'Fury', by Arnaud Gillet

I've been following this thread for a short while, and had no previous knowledge of this controversy (a real can of worms as they say in the UK). So, can I just ask a simple question, without any preconceived judgements about who wrote what, and with no agenda of my own:

How is it possible for the French fighter pilots to mistake a Fairey Battle for a Henschel HS.126? One is a low-winged, inline-engined aircraft with a long glazed canopy and retractable undercarriage, and the other is a parasol-winged, radial engined aircraft with fixed undercarriage.

I can understand something like a Blenheim being mistaken for a Ju-88, which happened on occasion, but to mistake a Battle for an HS-126...???

Best regards

Simon
