Re: ID of 1940 Blenheim loss?
Hallo Larry,
That is an interesting photo. I think I can make out the serial as P4927. I can certainly read part of the serial as '49' , with probably 'P' in front of that and '27' behind. If this is correct then P4927 was one of five Blenheims lost by 40 Squadron on 6 June 1940 over France. Another photo of 'BL-D' appears on page 431 of Peter Cornwell's The Battle of France, Then and Now'. Regards, Martin Gleeson. |
