Hmmm, ok, thanks Chris, however I was to say Typhoon... My bad! Then I have to check my books for any USAAF losses on these days or else the eye-witness I spoke has mixed up some things. He spoke about a Spitfire, so I have to check any kind of fighterplane.

Only Typhoon lost on those days was OV-V JP533, shot down by flak near Ghent on 11 August, Plt Off G.S.M.Pearson was killed.

Perhaps this can help : 12/08/1943 Aarsele near Gent in Belgium Typhoon IB 1145hrs Rhubarb JP-533 197Sqn OV-V Tangmere F/O Pearson George Sholto ( KIA ) 127030 Buried at Aarsele They attacked the train Kortrijk-Rijsel ( Courtrai – Lille ) in french and the stationdepot , hit by Flak.
