The date of the attack was 16 March 1943, one year later than the above, and it was during the 3rd patrol of U-757.
See the link below for position of air attack: http://www.uboat.net/boats/patrols/patrol_2390.html Roughly NW of Spain, W of Bay of Biscay (the sub reached St-Nazaire two days later).
