Well spotted! Not many persons today recognize the strange shape of the Makhonine wing. The photo you supply shows the prototype Model 10 in its original form at Villacoublay, which seems to have been its home base. However the original engine and fixed undercarriage proved to be a hindrance (much too underpowered) and the engine was switched to a Gnome Rhone 14K more than doubling the horsepower. At the same time the aircraft was modified with a retractable undercarriage and re-designated MAK 101. This aircraft was discovered by the Germans in 1941 still at Villacoublay and that is what you are looking at in the photoalbum. Nice catch Ed. First time I see this aircraft in Luftwaffe markings!!
