Identification of remains...

Hi folks from Belgium
We did retrieve small remains of a german plane, possibly crashed over Namur area in 1943.Is it possible to identificate that one? Are they tipically from a plane model? The button is 7,5 cm diameter and the little advertisement plaque is +- 5 cm long and 18m/m large
Many thanks to everybody

Re: Identification of remains...

The round item is the front of a parachute harness quick release box, thus indicating there are most likely casualties on board.

The second instruction plate is not familiar to me, but somebody should be able to identify the piece of equipment from the FL number.

Re: Identification of remains...

Hello Serge,

Fl 23332-2 is a component of the Mutterkompass.
I presume you know the precise crashsite (1943, over Namur is quite vague)... if so we talk about it this evening at the Haut-le-Wastia Museum... for a little surprise.

Best regards

Re: Identification of remains...

Hello Andy
Many thanks for your quick reply...
If these remains are coming from the plane crashed I think, the pilot was unfortunately burned on board.
What do you mean about "FL number"?

Found same type of plate at a Ju 87 crash site in northern Norway:

Re: Identification of remains...

Indeed, this is the baseplate of the Mutterkompass, an usual LW navigation equipment.

To Serge, the P-47 parts shown are of more interest.
I let you know more on the 28th.

Best regards
