Hurricane 1 P3547 - "Taffy" Higginson
I have been unable to find out very much about the incident which took place on 16th August 1940 when Flt. Sgt. F W "Taffy" Higginson's Hurricane 1 P3547 and coded US-A crash landed following an engagement with a Do17.
The Battle of Britain Then and Now records that he crashed south of Whitstable at 5.15pm; that the aircraft was burnt out and Higginson slightly injured. I would be grateful for any additional information which members may have eg. a more precise crash location and any photographs which may exist. Many thanks Nick
