Re: Me 262 battery
Dear Roger,
The Ersatzteil-Liste only identifies the battery as "Sammler", not "Bleisammler". I see that the AG-Liste is specifically for the Me 262 A-3a, A-2a, A-1a/U5, and A-1a/U2. I don't know if the capacity requirements for these would be any different than for the Me 262 A-1a. According to Smith & Creek, Me 262, vol. 2, page 272, the A-1a/U2 was to carry additional electronic equipment. Availability of one battery or the other may have played a part. Since the Fl 34257 was one digit higher than the Fl 34256, perhaps it represented an improved battery design. That's pushing it a bit, though, I have to admit. There's also the possibility that the Oct. 1944 Ersatzteil-Liste did not have the latest changes. We'd need to look at other AG-Liste to see what they showed. Regards, Richard |
