Photo 2 - Spitfire W3183 QJ -P of 92 Sqn was shot down by Bf109 near Lille on 11th July 1941 while escorting Short Stirlings.

Its likely to have been the Mk V piloted by P/O J Dougall who became POW.

Norman Franks in his entry in Fighter Command Losses Vol 1 was unsure of the serial (stating W3120?) possibly as it was not clear in ORB. But now we know!
