206 Sqn Hudson crash 6/09/1940 Bircham Newton

Could anyone help with the Lockheed Hudson's serial no., or crew I guess it was from 206 Sqn - Bircham Newton?

On the 5 September 1940 a Hudson crashed into four Blenheim fighters of 235 Squadron members from the squadron rushed to start up and taxi the Blenheim fighters away from the burning aircraft.

These men then received awards which I have the paperwork for but nothing is written up in the ORB's about this event.

Many Thanks

Any Bird

Hello Andy,
If the Squadron and date are correct then you have a bit of a choice.
1-9-40 .... N7367 ... 206 ... Swung on t/o, u/c collapsed, caught fire, bombs exploded, Bircham Newton.
3-9-40 .... N7351 ... 206 ... Hit trees on t/o belly landed, Docking.
7-9-40 .... T9276 .... 206 ... Stalled on landing avoiding Hurricane, Bircham Newton.
But if August,more choice.
5-8-40 .... P5133 ... 206 ... Stalled after steep turn, hit ground and blew up, Syderstone, Norfolk.
5-8-40 .... T9272 ... 206 ... Heavy landing, Aldergrove, DBR.
6-8-40 .... P5153 .... 206 ... Crashed on landing, bombs exploded, Bircham Newton.
All the best
Alex

Andy (or Any if you prefer).
Can you reconfirm dates as your post mentions both 5 & 6 Sep 40. AHB have no accident cards for Hudsons at BN for those dates so might I suggest it could be 7 Sep? What does my diary say (if anything)?
Chris
