Information Concerning Loss of Fedwebel Franz Leitner - April 1994 in the West

Hi,

Please see scan below of sterbebild.

Can anyone provide information on his loss, what uint he was with and where he was killed etc.

Fw. Leitner was a member of the 2./JG 5 and killed on 2.4.44 in combat with her Bf 109 G-6 near Rottweil.
Perhaps you should buy more books about the Luftwaffe than deathcards on ebay and you can answer yourself most of your questions.

I have a growing reference library on the different Luftwaffe units but nothing on JG5 in English.

I feel sharing my images ofsterbebild could be useful to others interested in specific units.

Good on you Kaczmarek, I consider that obtaining items such as deathcards can only add interest when associated with specific units under research. More power to your collection.

rickback4444 does indeed seem a trifle touchy today.
