Re: Feldflugplatz Leipzig
Leipzig/Rom. was used by JG, SG and NSGr. units Apr to Jul/Aug 44. There is no evidence that twin-engine aircraft ever used it even though they could have, nor was it used during the winter months because of the absence of infrastructure. Furthermore, the pine trees in the photo are the norm for central Germany but not for Moldavia.

General: airfield in present day Moldova 122 km SSE of Kishinev, 70 km W of Akkerman and 5 km NE of the village of Artsyz. Rated for bombers. 1941 measured 1000 x 1500 meters with no infrastructure.
