10.(Jabo)/JG53 Malta 1942

Can anyone let me know the best published material to date recalling the activity of 10.(Jabo)/JG53 over Malta in 1942?

So far, I can only find breif mention and very little in any detail, so any help whatsoever will be very gratefully received indeed.

Hopeful in anticipation.

Regards Richard.

Jochen Prien's history of JG 53 is the best source.

Thank you for the heads up on Jochen Preins JG53 history.

I have been able to find snippets of information here and there, the Osprey book on JG53 by John Weal for example however, I am suprised that there seems very little info out there on this Staffel.

Any further suggestions of books which might help will be very well received indeed.

Regards Richard.

Richard:

You may also want to flip through Spitfires over Malta The Epic Air Battles of 1942 by Brian Cull

Hardcover: 256 pages
Publisher: Grub Street (October 2005)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1904943306
ISBN-13: 978-1904943303

This will perhaps have information from the Allied side which would be of use.

Regards

Jeremy

Jeremy

Thank you for the additonal reference for 10.(jabo)/JG53, another book for the wants list!

I have to say though, that I am very suprised that there does not seem to be more out there on this Staffel than there appears to be.

Regards Richard.
