American aces KIA over Holland

For a project I am researching American fighter aces who perished over Dutch soil - browsing the web i only found one - major Edwin W. Hiro, 357th FG. Is there a good database, or anything in that order, which may be of help?

Regards,
Edwin

Re: American aces KIA over Holland

Tough assignment - very few USAAF pilots that were KIA over Holland were aces when there was a lot of fighting over Holland (i.e July-Dec 1943).. after that far more air combat between aces was deep in Germany - Mustang and P-38 specifically.

Hiro was KIA during Operation Market Garden IIRC, which was certainly an 'exception' to the above statement.

Few USAAF aces were KIA in air combat durinng WWII in the ETO or MTO

Hi,
Thank you for that first reply - maybe I could broaden my search by listing pilots who became ace over Holland? Maybe even more complex.......

Hello,
Edwin Hiro died on German soil!
He crashed in his aircraft 3 km NE of Vreden (Doemern), Germany.
He was buried in Vreden RC cemetery in grave 11, september 20, 1944.
After the war his remains could not be recovered so his name is on the wall of the missing at Margraten, Netherlands.
Regards
Karl Lusink
